06.07.2022Awesome man. You almost nailed that carrier landing. I'm a newbie to FS so wondering what joystick you're using there, and also what would be your dream joystick if you wanted to upgrade. Would appreciate the advice. Got the game, just need my stick! Cheers

05.07.2022You're looking to catch the #3 wire or second closest to the bow of the ship. Once you hook a wire put the throttle to full mil or even afterburner (doesn't really matter) until the jet stops moving.

05.07.2022lol try this in DCS…. MSFS isn't great, like at all, at military aircraft.

03.07.2022MIL is Full Throttle without using the Afterburners. The reason why is that u can go around in case you missed the ropes.

03.07.2022I got an A when I realized that it´s easier to control the VS and glide slope with the throttle and not so much with the elevator. Good lucky

03.07.2022I’d love to be able to play This game but I just done have pc that would run it and it’s not the same on xbox

02.07.2022Power for altitude, pitch for speed. These basics should be the introduction of every flight simulator.

02.07.2022Nice Video, Truly in inspiring. Thanks for the content. To those aspiring pilots out there, when flying fighters… ""Mil" is like usually shorthand for "Military Power", aka, FULL THROTTLE Without After burner. Considering the very low speed, and spool-down engine power conditions present just before touchdown on a carrier, Naval Aviators in fighters go full throttle immediately upon touchdown just in case they miss all the restraints… in doing so, they have fully spooled-up engine power, should they have to touch and go to try landing again (more common then you may think. Other wise they would crash. TREX never overshot the restraint that I could see. Also, it's a great idea (actually critical, that we learn to control our decent using airspeed, and not by jerking up and down on the stick. TREX said it himself. more airspeed means you climb (ascend/ lift), less airspeed means descent, manipulation of the flight stick only when necessary (could be different for landing on carriers. Anyhow, still a fun video!!!engine

30.06.2022MIL is not 100%, on your power control is more close to around 70-75% maybe a little bit more. but you can see the level on the thrusters lever inside the cockpit. And you can land easelly on carriers if you look more at the velocity vector, is like the point at the plane is going to be

30.06.2022You've probably had this comment but try Carrier Ops in DCS World flying the F/A 18c. With the super carrier module. Way, way, way more satisfying.

30.06.2022As somebody who flies virtual Hornets for more than a decade by now (currently in a sim called DCS World / Digital Combat Simulator World) i have to say this is really painful to watch… To elaborate on what others said: try using throttle for altitude corrections and stick for speed corrections, but arguably you can get away with not using the stick at all except for lateral corrections.. What you really do in the (Super)Hornet is you trim for on-speed AoA, once that is achieved you alter your descent rate with the throttle only and don't have to worry about the AoA (slow/fast) thing anymore as it's already solved by trimming the airplane correctly.

30.06.2022How much you've evolved🥲
